Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Zagora
Your private English‑speaking driver will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech around 07:00 AM.
We begin our Morocco desert tour by crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, passing traditional Berber villages and stunning mountain scenery.
Our first major stop is the legendary Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location for many famous movies and series. You will have time to explore the kasbah with a local guide.
After a lunch break in Ouarzazate, we continue towards the Draa Valley via Agdz, discovering authentic Morocco with its vast palm groves and fortified kasbahs.
On arrival in Zagora, you’ll enjoy your first camel ride among the dunes before spending the night in a traditional Berber guesthouse.

Day 2: Zagora – Alnif – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)
After breakfast, we leave Zagora and drive through the Anti-Atlas Mountains towards Alnif, where we stop for lunch.
We then continue our journey to Merzouga, gateway to the famous Erg Chebbi dunes. On arrival, you’ll start a camel trek into the heart of the Sahara to admire the magical landscapes and a spectacular sunset over the dunes.
You will then reach your desert camp, where dinner is served in a unique atmosphere with Berber music and drumming around the campfire under a sky full of stars.
Overnight: Nomadic tent in a desert bivouac – Merzouga
Meals: Dinner & Breakfast
Day 3: Merzouga – Tinghir – Todra Gorge – Boumalne Dades
Wake up early to enjoy an unforgettable sunrise over the dunes of Merzouga. After breakfast, we leave the camp and drive towards Tinghir.
In Tinghir, you will take a short walking tour to discover the palm groves, traditional agricultural fields and ancient irrigation systems with a local guide. You will also visit a Berber cooperative or workshop to learn about the art of making traditional Berber carpets.
Just 20 km from Tinghir, we reach the impressive Todra Gorges, a spectacular canyon with high vertical cliffs and one of the most beautiful natural sites in the region. After free time and lunch in the area, we continue to Boumalne Dades.
Dinner and overnight in a charming Berber guesthouse overlooking the Dades Valley.
Overnight: La Gazelle du Dades or similar – Boumalne Dades
Meals: Dinner & Breakfast
Day 4: Boumalne Dades – Kelaat M’Gouna – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast, we continue our journey through the wonderful landscapes of the Dades Valley, passing Ifri, Kelaat M’Gouna (the Valley of Roses) and Skoura with its palm oases and kasbahs.
We stop again in Ouarzazate for lunch before driving back to Marrakech via the High Atlas. Your 4-day Sahara desert tour ends with drop‑off at your hotel or riad in Marrakech in the late afternoon or early evening.
